Pastor Lawrence Bates and his wife, Barbara, have served the Lord all of their lives.  Lawrence spend 22 years in the corporate world, primarily with Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters. He served in a number of roles including Vice President and Executive Director of Medical Services.  He is a CPA. Lawrence currently serves as the Executive Pastor of Western Branch Community Church in Chesapeake, VA.                Pastor Steve Hassell served as a music minister for many years, but accepted a call to pastoral ministry in the early 1990’s.  He holds undergraduate degrees in music and ministry.  He also holds a Master’s Degree in Ministry.  Among other ministries he leads a ministry focused on reaching young adults.  He and Dawn have been married for more than 30 years and have two grown children; Travis and Megan.                 Pastor Joey Covey served in the Portsmouth Police Department for nearly all of his adult life.  He rose to the rank of Captain and served as interim Assistant Chief for a season.  Several years ago the Lord called Joey to full-time ministry. He currently serves as a Zone Pastor and Children’s Pastor. He and his wife, Candice, have two adult children; Sharon and Jonathan.                Pastor Anthony Smith holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Religious Education.  His ministry has largely been defined by launching new ministries.  He came to Western Branch Community Church at a time when teen ministries were non-existent.  He started the new ministry, recruiting and training adult leaders. His team developed a teen worship event on Sunday’s along with teen cell groups.  In time, he turned that ministry over one of his interns and started 17:17, a ministry to young adults.  Today, he is preparing to launch a new church plant in the Winston-Salem area of North Carolina. Tony and Cindy have three young children; Halley, Benjamin and Savanna.              Reverend Kevin Hinman is the President and co-founder of Leadership Training International.  Kevin  holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration, a Master’s in Communication and a Master’s in Divinity.  Kevin also got practical training through General Electric’s Management School and interned under international evangelist Luis Palau.  Since then, Kevin has led LTI in training leaders in 72 countries of the world. Kevin and Carol have three young children: Kathryn, Kurtis and Kaleb.
