 Dr. Jim Wall hails from the small town of Bladenboro, North Carolina. He grew up in church and gave his life to Christ at a very young age. He began pastoring a small town church at age 19. After pastoring in North Carolina for seven years, Jim and his wife, Kim, served as church planting missionaries to the Philippines from 1981 to 1989.
During the 1980’s Jim led in the planting of 67 churches and the formation of one K-12 Christian School and two Bible Colleges. He also trained Filipinos so that the work continues, to this day, under Filipino leadership. Today, the Philippine work consists of 170 churches, two Bible Colleges and ten K-12 Christian Schools. Jim continues to provide encouragement and support visiting frequently.
In 1989 the Lord led Jim and Kim to the Western Branch section of Chesapeake where the Lord blessed them to plant Western Branch Community Church. Since then the WBCC family has grown into a cell-based church with nearly 2,500 active attenders and 80 cell groups. The church functioned in rented facilities for the first 10 years of it’s life until moving onto 25 acres just off I-664 in Chesapeake where they have constructed a 60,000 square foot worship facility that includes the Community Bible Institute.
Jim holds undergraduate degrees in Business Administration and Religious Education and a Masters in Biblical Studies. He holds an earned doctorate in Christian Leadership from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He is the husband of one wonderful wife and help-mate, Kim. Three sons, Andrew, Adam and Zach. Two daughters-in-law and one grandson, Andy Jr. (of whom he will gladly show you pictures!)
